“We had a really delightful experience celebrating my son’s birthday at the Brasserie at Whatley Manor in Easton Grey, Gloucestershire. They asked for any allergies when we made the reservation, and I told them of my daughter’s tree nut allergy. When we got there, they confirmed this and then went out of their way to consistently meet her dietary needs and make her feel secure and also like a valued guest. Such a change from the ‘well, we can’t guarantee anything is nut-free, so just take your chances’ attitude we are normally presented with. For example, for dessert, they indicated which dishes were nut-free, and also which dishes they could MAKE nut-free, without us even having to ask. It was such a new experience for us to be treated this way, it made the whole night more enjoyable. It’s a pricey, special-occasion place, but well worth it.”
